Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Mobile Telecommunications Network

Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Malaysia is one of the most ambitious and extensive infrastructure projects Malaysia has ever undertaken. The high population growth in cities within Klang Valley calls for improved public facilities, especially in the transport sector. Upon its completion, KVMRT will hugely boost the urban transport network in Malaysia. The KVMRT project comprises of three MRT lines namely; MRT Line 1, MRT Line 2 and MRT Line 3. KVMRT plays a considerable role in improving lives of those living in the region. Together with the existing rail transit systems, Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit forms the backbone of the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley region. The contribution of the project to improving passenger safety cannot be overstated.

As the leading Mobile Telecommunications Network Consultancy in Malaysia, Seraya Teknologi is at the center stage in the provision of the mobile network for KVMRT. Through utilization of the sophisticated Commercial Mobile Telecommunication System (CMTS) facility, the company provides the radio frequency (RF) infrastructure necessary for mobile operators to extend their radio coverage to the KVMRT SBK Line underground stations, linkways, tunnels and viaduct sections with noise barriers. Ultimately, CMTS is a prerequisite for efficient and quality mobile network services in the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit.

The different teams at Seraya are adequately equipped and trained to make sure that Mobile Telecommunications network services at KVMRT are top-notch. Through the CMTS facility, Seraya Teknologi caters for different mobile users in the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit. This includes; 2G, 3G, and 4G (LTE FDD) users. Our teams are keen to ensure that our services meet the performance requirements in the KVMRT.

Seraya Teknologi facilitates crucial integration tests with mobile operators in the Klang Valley Rapid Transport Malaysia. The tests are carried out in two parts. Part one comprises of The Design, Installation supervision, testing and commissioning and Supervision. On the other hand, Part two consists of Perform Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Maintenance and relevant Training. The processes are done through applicable binding agreements with Seraya’s partners in the KVMRT. They are essential for mobile telecommunications network services to take place in the KVMRT.

Seraya Teknologi plays a significant role in ensuring extensive Telecommunication mobile network coverage in the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit. An open Access fiber network is required for CMTS to meet the performance requirements. Through the FTTP (fiber to the premises) model, the broadband infrastructure is jointly built, end-to-end. The infrastructure is built through contractual agreements between Telco, Fiber communication Network, and Seraya. FTTP allows a customer in the KVMRT to freely select a specific service from any Telco/Service Provider at any time.

Driven in part by rising bandwidth requirements and quality of service expectations in the KVMRT, the cost of deploying and maintaining today’s advanced DAS is on the rise. The Neutral Host model reduces the responsibility of the mobile operators to secure access, deploy and efficiently manage a DAS and in some cases, funding portions of the project in the KVMRT. Neutral Host model is therefore crucial for Seraya, as a mobile telecommunications network provider in Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit.
